It was my problem after upgrading my NetBeans IDE from version 8.1 to 8.2. I have tried some methods like clicking on “Windows > Projects“, or even reset windows using “Windows > Reset Windows“, but the Projects window still does not open at all.
If you have got stuck with this problem, this post will show you how to solve it.
Basically, this problem is due to NetBeans JDK Home pointing to JDK 10, which I set during the installation.
So to solve this problem, I have changed NetBeans JDK Home to JDK 8. The following shows how to change NetBeans JDK Home:
What you need to do is to open
netbeans.conf file as an administrator (this file is located at
C:\Program Files\NetBeans 8.2\etc\) and change
netbeans_jdkhome setting like this:
Change JDK 10 home path
To JDK 8 home path
Don’t forget to correct your JDK home path.
If you do not have JDK 8 installed yet, here is where you can download it: JDK8 Downloads.
That’s all! Now let’s reopen your NetBeans IDE and try again.
